WiseGuyz Manager

Centre for Sexuality is a nationally recognized, community-based organization delivering health promotion programs and services across the spectrum of prevention that work to support sexual wellbeing for all. Job Overview

The WiseGuyz Manager is responsible for overseeing, managing, and further developing the WiseGuyz program and its team of educators. The WiseGuyz program is a community-facilitated, gender-transformative healthy relationships program developed by the Centre for Sexuality. It facilitates mid-adolescent, male-identified youth to critically examine and deconstruct male gender role stereotypes and expectations, with the objective of improving the mental and sexual health of young men and reducing male-perpetrated dating violence. As an internationally recognized inclusive masculinity program, WiseGuyz benefits from significant academic research partnerships. 


  • Managing and supervising the WiseGuyz team of educators, including leading regular performance management, planning, and employee reviews.
  • Guiding team through annual program planning, including reviewing research and evaluation results, curriculum, training processes, and establishing annual program priorities.
  • Liaising with WiseGuyz research team made up of university partners, independent evaluators and researchers, and Centre for Sexuality staff. This includes among other duties supporting and implementing research and evaluation procedures, and data collection.
  • Ensuring program meets its funding deliverables and all grant agreement conditions.
  • Writing funding reports according to grant agreement specifications.
  • Establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with other teams and community partners.

Desired Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years in a management or leadership role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, Master’s preferred. A combination of relevant experiences and/or related educational backgrounds will be considered.
  • Advanced knowledge of health promotion, primary prevention, gender transformative approaches, and/or delivery of youth programming.
  • Ability to think strategically and work for strategic change, critically review and apply academic and grey literature, support transformational learning techniques, and connect programming to the organizational theory of change and strategic directions.
  • Knowledge and comfort with topics related to sexuality, sexual health, gender, and sexual and gender diversity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to organizational values and beliefs including the belief in choice and the use of a health promotion, primary prevention, and social justice approach to work.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Must have access to a reliable vehicle.

Job Conditions

The WiseGuyz Manager is a full time (35 hours/week) permanent position. Regular office hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. Some evening, and occasional weekend, hours may be required on an irregular basis.
