Volunteer Coordinator

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Ensure the success of the Volunteer Program which includes recruitment, screening, training, placement, and supervision of volunteers • Network with community and stakeholders • Establish new collaborations/partnerships, maintain and enhance existing relationships to promote the vision and mission of Sonshine Community Services • Maintenance of volunteer files and database, • Ensure volunteers are engaged in consistent and effective communication • Solicit donations in kind as directed by Resource Development Director • Organize, inventory and maintain storage for donations in kind • Coordinate with facilities manager/landlord coordinator to ensure suites are ready for incoming families, to include organizing volunteers groups for suite preparation. • Attend volunteer recruitment events and deliver presentations to prospect volunteers • Coordinate and deliver the Adopt a Family and Adopt a Suite programs PO Box 34067 RPO Westbrook, Calgary, AB T3C 3W2 Canadian Charitable Registration # 119154612RR0001 QUALIFICATIONS: • Preferred: Minimum one year experience in volunteer engagement within a non-profit environment • Experience using databases is a definite asset • Ability to establish priorities and to effectively manage personal time with minimal supervision • Good written and oral communication skills • Highly developed interpersonal skills • Appreciation of the needs and challenges of families who have experienced domestic violence • Comfortable engaging with a variety of stakeholders and soliciting donations in kind • Able to work outside of regular office hours when needed This is a permanent, full time (35 hours per week) position. The successful candidate is required to successfully complete a Police Information Check for the Vulnerable Sector. Salary commensurate with experience.
