Team Leader, 1000 Voices

POSITION PURPOSE

With a vision of “Together, we will lead the way as agents for action and sustainable change”, Aspen Family and Community Network Society has an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader position at 1000 Voices located at the Genesis Centre. The Team Leader will leverage their knowledge of community development and collaborate with the Program Director and Team Leaders to support initiatives. 

1000 Voices is a community hub within Calgary’s North of McKnight community, where residents, diverse community groups, and service providers share educational, social and cultural activities. This hub offers a wide range of programs, services and community space for families and individuals in this community. 

All 1000 Voices staff are accountable to uphold a high standard of resident driven support and service within the hub.  The Team Leader is responsible to collaboratively lead the process of assessing, evaluating, and collection of data regarding the needs of the community and lead the creation of opportunities for economic participation.  Some evening and weekend work will be required.

RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • The responsibilities and accountabilities outlined in this job posting may change as the position evolves along with the growth of the agency.  The key responsibilities and accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Ensure all data for outcome measures, service performance indicators, engagement tools and other standardized measures are inputted in a timely manner
  • Ensure that required quarterly and annual data is collected and properly documented within timelines
  • Ensure that programs are run as outlined by the delivery model and expected standards
  • Hiring and ongoing supervision of frontline staff, performance reviews and training plans
  • Ensure programs are aligned within overall mandates
  • Coordinate support services and partnerships with stakeholders; address the needs of the service providers using 1000 Voices
  • Manage employee schedule; ensuring adequate daily coverage.
  • Work collaboratively with staff to ensure 1000 Voices activities fit with mission and goals of the centre
  • Monitor use of space to ensure it meets the 1000 Voices’ vision and goals.
  • Collaborate with all stakeholders for facility management
  • Help develop and implement operational procedures
  • Support collaborative relationships both internal and external to the Agency 

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUISITES 

This role requires our ideal candidate to possess at minimum the following:

  • University degree in social work, community development or related field
  • 3-5 years’ experience working within collaborative community development initiatives
  • Community Development knowledge
  • Exceptional collaborative skills, ability to represent the Agency and manage relationships with community and program-based partnerships
  • Experience working with diverse populations, culturally-based sensitivities and needs
  • Ability to build effective and cohesive team dynamics
  • Ability to adapt and successfully lead teams through change
  • Superior communication skills (both verbal and written) and sound critical thinking skills
  • Strong organizational, time management and conflict management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively; strong engagement skills
  • Advanced computer skills with a proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Supervisory experience 

Prerequisites:

  • Current Police Check, Intervention Record Check
  • Suicide Intervention and First Aid
