Relationships, Identity and Sex Programmer

The Students’ Association of Mount Royal University (SAMRU) is looking for a full-time contract Relationships, Identity and Sex Programmer. The RIS Programmer will be responsible for working behind the scenes to build and coordinate the delivery of healthy relationships, and gender and sexual identity programming to the campus student community. The RIS Programmer also oversees SAMRU’s Pride Centre by recruiting, training, supervising and motivating volunteers and supervising one part-time staff. The RIS Programmer works extensively as an integrated member of a team, requiring strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, as well as excellent judgement around setting and maintaining appropriate boundaries.

Requirements

The successful candidate should possess:

  • An appropriate degree;
  • Program development experience and/or training;
  • Excellent project management and/or event planning skills;
  • Very strong interpersonal and conflict management skills;
  • Certification or equivalent experience in volunteer management;
  • Experience working with the LGBTQ+ community, and with sex-positive and healthy relationships programming;
  • Budgeting and financial management experience;
  • Supervisory experience;
  • Comprehensive computer experience, with MS Office and Outlook;
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as with a team

This is a full-time position beginning in August 2019 and running for approximately one year. The position offers an annual salary of $41,500 with benefits. The successful candidate must be able to work some flexible hours to accommodate occasional evening and weekend events.
