The Program – Wilderness Treatment at Base Camp

The program offers teens (12 to 17 years old) an experientially- based balance between individual and group addiction treatment and rehabilitation, traditional school, outdoor education, and community experiences. Wilderness Treatment at Base Camp provides a safe and structured 12-week remotely located treatment environment to support those healing from alcohol and drug abuse and mental health issues.

 

The Position – Program Supervisor – term position

By utilizing a trauma-informed, experiential, and strength-based approach, the Program Supervisor will support the team in providing addiction and mental health treatment (in collaboration with AHS) in a remote, wilderness setting. You must be able to work independently as well as work collaboratively with the team. You also have strong written and verbal skills as well as being a solid organizer.

Of note: the term is minimally three months, with the possibility of extensions.

 

For Consideration Applicants Will Need to Demonstrate the Following

The successful applicant will have at least 2 years’ experience working with youth with complex addictions and mental health histories, experience and understanding of remote work environments; and excellent time management skills. Applicants must work well independently and within a team setting. As well, the following apply:

  • A diploma or degree in the Human Services field
  • A current criminal record check including vulnerable sector (completed within last 6 months)
  • A current Alberta Intervention Record check (completed within last 6 months)
