Program Manager- Excel Discovery & Summit

Enviros addresses a broad range of societal needs ranging from programs for young offenders; family support services, emergency foster care, and helping young adults become successfully independent.  Position Summary

This Program Manager is responsible for leading and managing the Excel Discovery and Summit programs. The Excel Discovery program supports youth with an open custody disposition while supporting reintegration back into the community. The Summit program supports high risk youth while providing treatment and a harm reduction approach in a safe and supportive environment.

Reports to: Director, Residential Services

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all facets of programming, service development and delivery, from proposal writing (in conjunction with the Manager of Marketing, Communications and Fund Development), through planning, budgeting, implementation, evaluation and report writing.
  • Establish and maintain all client files and documentation in an appropriate and accountable manner according to established standards.
  • Ensure consistency of quality, accountability and high standards in all programs and services - both client support and education. This includes providing training for staff and developing procedures, models and comprehensive frameworks of delivery.
  • Maintain appropriate fiscal controls to ensure all programs are within the scope of the annual budget.
  • Maintain accurate and complete statistical records for the programs on the agency database, providing funders with comprehensive details on programs offered.
  • Ensure consistent and meaningful evaluation of the programs are carried out in order to assess their impact and success and to make needed changes and improvements as indicated.


  • Graduate/Undergraduate Degree in the Human Services or related field.
  • Knowledge and proven abilities to work within the Child and Family Services system, Adolescent mental health system, Alberta Health Services, Mental Health and Addictions, Youth Criminal Justice system and the Educational systems.
  • Direct experience in management in a non-profit culture including planning, budgeting, evaluation, communication and team operations.
  • Experience in residential based client work.
  • Clinical counseling experience an asset.
  • Proven commitment and passion to working and supporting staff through a team based approach.
  • High level program and agency leadership.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • An understanding and appreciation of experiential education and competency based approaches to working with youth and their families.

This is a Mat leave coverage position start date is August 26, 2019 to September 4, 2020
