We are currently seeking someone who has a passion for working with youth. The Live-In Resident Worker will live in the home and will be responsible for providing support and general on-site supervision to youth ages 16-24 years during specific hours (mostly evenings and weekends).

It is a rewarding and challenging position that requires you to live on site.  As the Live-In resident worker, you will have your own room (with ensuite) and share all other common spaces. You will be part of a team that supports youth who live full time at Wellington Place.

The Live-In worker’s duties include:

- The successful candidate is required to be available two weeks at 6 days and two weeks at 5 days.

-  Be available in the evening to support youth; daytime availability is not mandatory.

- Conduct minimally weekly walkthroughs of youth’s living space.

- Organize a social event for the youth in the home every month.

- Communicate and reinforce program expectations clearly and transparently.

- Recommend interventions to address needs identified by the client

- Provide support and develop relationships with the youth and their families.

- Support unique needs identified as needed. Work with the staff team to support youth’s individual goals.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Qualified applicants will have two years of related experience working with at risk youth and/or families.
  • A good knowledge of resources and youth services in the community.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with youth.
  • Some training or educational background in Social Work preferred
  • This role may require the use of your personal vehicle with a minimum of $2,000,000.00 personal third party liability insurance coverage and a Driver’s Abstract.
  • A current Police Check and Child Intervention check are also required.

Hours: The candidate is required to be available two weeks at 6 days and two weeks at 5 days.

Salary Range: $34,176.00. Please note there will be a rental taxable benefit that will be applied to your pay each month (rent and utilities are included)
