Trinity Place Foundation of Alberta is seeking a Janitor/Housekeeper for Casual/Relief work at our supportive living facility Peter Coyle Place.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the TR Coordinator, the Janitor/Housekeeper is responsible for the overall cleanliness and safety of the facility. This job requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals as directed by the organization.

About Peter Coyle Place

Peter Coyle Place, is a 68 unit specialized supportive living facility, for residents who have in the past experienced substandard housing and/or chronic homelessness due to physical, mental and/or emotional factors. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the facility is cleaned and organized, including all of resident rooms and common areas.
  • Daily cleaning of resident rooms including bed-making, change sheets, towel changing; dust furniture and fixtures
  • Clean and disinfect washroom facilities (toilets, bath tubs, sinks, mirrors, floors, walls and bathroom fixtures)
  • Removal/sorting of linen/garbage/recycling;
  • Inventory control and ordering of chemical and paper products; receiving and restocking inventory on a regular basis.
  • Sorting and starting of laundry for residents.
  • Keeping work areas and cleaning supplies clean, organized and sanitized throughout the work day.
  • Other duties as assigned.



  • WHMIS Certificate
  • Valid First Aid Certificate


  • Previous janitorial/housekeeping experience
  • Prior experience with seniors an asset     
  • Experience in working with persons with mental illness and/or addictions an asset

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50lbs
  • Ability to relate well with seniors
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks in an effective and efficient manner
  • Ability to work as a team and individually
  • Flexibility and versatility in a constantly changing environment
  • Must complete a Calgary Police Service Vulnerable Sector Search
