Human Resources Manager

Enviros seeks an experienced; dynamic and responsible individual to join the leadership team as a Human Resources Manager. 

About the role:

Under the leadership of the Chief Executive Officer you will be responsible for providing assistance and leadership in achieving Enviros organizational objectives. The Human Resources Manager is involved in all areas of HR while delivering HR strategic goals of the organization. The HR Manager will focus on the following:

  • Provide leadership and coaching to managers and employees on key workplace matters such as performance management, employee development and employee relation needs.
  • Responsible for handling employee complaints and incidents, including conflict resolution, accidents, health and safety concerns, work refusals, and investigations.
  • Develop performance goals, metrics and targets that are consistent with the organizational goals.
  • Administer progressive disciplinary action in accordance with established procedures.
  • Monitor assigned payroll activities and program components for the purpose of ensuring effective department functions.
  • Monitor and advise on legislative and organizational polices regarding HR matters including ensuring proper compliance.
  • Oversee, provide guidance and day to day support to the HR Assistant.
  • Oversee compensation program including advising on compensation issues and any structural changes.
  • Oversee the benefit and RRSP program.
  • Oversee disability management including, STD, LTD and WCB.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Human Resources leadership role
  • Full cycle Human Resources generalist experience
  • Experience in the not-for-profit sector
  • Detailed understanding of Alberta Employment Standards, Canadian Human Rights Act
  • Strong experience with employee benefits and RRSP
  • Professional and timely decision-making skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and advocate a total compensation package and philosophy
  • Understanding of  not-for-profit compensation Surveys
  • Ability to drive and manage a Staff Annual Quality Improvement Survey
  • Highly organized and above average attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, as well as be part of a team
  • Understanding of the legalities of internal investigation documentation and reporting requirements
