We are hiring for a full-time Human Resources Assistant to join our growing Human Resources team. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Assistant performs a variety of duties related to the effective operation of the Human Resources department.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist in job posting creation and distribution to external and internal sites
  • Perform related duties as required
  • Screening and distributing resumes to the hiring programs
  • Onboarding of new hires
  • Assisting employees to update their Police and Child Intervention Checks
  • Data Entry and filing of employee records and documents
  • Auditing and maintaining accurate and comprehensive personnel records
  • Participate in career fairs and recruiting events
  • Assist the Human Resources Manager in HR functions as needed

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree or Diploma in Human Resources or related field  
  • 1-2 years related experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Employment Standards Legislation, CRA Regulations and Legislation, Human Rights Legislation an asset
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and best practices in Human Resources administration
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Intermediate computer skills, demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office and Internet based applications
  • Experience working with Avanti Software would be considered an asset
  • Experience in the non-profit sector would be considered an asset
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
