Group Facilitators (Leadership)

CCVO (The Calgary Chamber of Voluntary Organizations) is a member-based organization that works to strengthen the nonprofit sector in Calgary and beyond. We provide leadership and give voice to critical issues affecting the nonprofit sector; connect organizations to the information they need; develop practical resources; and build connections between organizations to facilitate learning, sharing of resources and action on common issues.

CCVO is seeking experienced facilitators to take on a contract role within our Executive Directions program. Executive Directions is a leadership development program based on a cohort model with two streams. Summit, focused on CEOs and executive directors, currently runs over an 18-month period and will be launching its tenth cohort this fall. Ascent, focused on directors and managers, currently runs consecutively over six months and is completing its third cohort this spring. Cohorts range in size from 10 – 14 members.

The Executive Directions model is grounded in peer learning while building the adaptive capacity of leaders in the nonprofit sector. Cohorts come together once a month to explore topics related to leadership as identified by the members (e.g. human resources, financial management). Guest facilitators may be invited to share their expertise and assist with the learning in support of discussion and action-planning based on current challenges faced by members. Facilitators work in two-person teams to design and facilitate these monthly sessions. Individual coaching services may also be provided depending on the program level.

Lead and Co-Facilitators report to the Manager, Programs, and work closely with the Program Coordinator.

Successful candidates may be assigned to more than one cohort at a time if circumstances and interest permit.
