About Sagesse

Our work falls into three categories; direct service programs, capacity building and education and advocacy:

  • Peer support groups and mentorship for women who have experienced domestic violence, are at risk of being abused, or women that have been involved in sex work.
  • Capacity-building workshops to other organizations about the experience of domestic violence within LGBTQ communities.
  • Education to informal support networks about how to recognize domestic violence, respond (based on the situation), and refer to the appropriate supports.
  • The backbone agency for the Calgary Domestic Violence Collective (CDVC) and the Provincial Collective Impact Initiative; collaborative community responses to support individuals, families and societies to live free of domestic violence.
