Full Time Communications Advisor Location: Centre 15 in downtown Calgary Are you someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children, youth and families? Boys & Girls Clubs of Calgary is a leading provider of quality programs to children and youth, with a $20 million dollar operating budget, that supports the healthy physical, educational and social development for over 4,000 young people and their families each year. The Communications Advisor reports to the Director, Communications & Stakeholder Relations in the newly developed External Relations department. This is a new role that aligns with Boys & Girls Clubs of Calgary’s strategic goal to become a leading voice on issues facing young people, guiding our community on how best to address these issues.  As a Communications Advisor, a typical day might include: Ensuring that the vision of Boys & Girls Clubs of Calgary is supported by strategic communication by providing direction and management of communications and marketing Building and sustaining the organization’s profile through consistent and well-crafted messaging on social media, website, presentations, while ensuring brand management and consistency Managing non-fundraising events that engage external audiences such as the Annual General Meeting, and other non-fundraising events as needed Overseeing the production, printing and distribution of various publications, resources and products involving liaison with graphic designers, editors, photographers, printers and contractors  Acting as a mini-marketing agency reviewing service requests from within the organization, providing insight and recommendations on marketing and communications challenges Supporting other internal departments with coordination of printed or digital collateral for donor engagement and community outreach activities Ensuring media coverage is monitored and tracked Writing for a variety of audience types using a variety of tools including letters, scripts, reports, speeches, invitations, and social media posts Tracking event and project budgets This position is an office-based job, with the opportunity to work at home on occasion.
