We currently have a full-time permanent position available in our Dining Services Department. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Service & Operations, the Manager of Dining Services is primarily responsible for the development and implementation of research and evidence-based dining programs, department procedures, as well as defining and supporting operational excellence in service delivery.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Design and develop a high quality, person-centered seniors dining program within Silvera with particular focus on the following core deliverables:
  • Identify future trends and the partners needed to deliver a best in the class dining experience
  • Create a customer service model that optimizes service excellence
  • Develop planning, monitoring and reporting systems, and tools to ensure the dining program meets both regulatory and Silvera financial requirements:
  • Develop reporting mechanisms to reflect actual performance versus plan.
  • Ensure program design supports Supportive Living Accommodation Licensing Act standards
  • Actively advocate for and participate in the Silvera Health and Safety Program.
  • Provides leadership and support to the Dining Services Supervisors to follow the budgets for weekly and monthly inventories, including food and non-food supplies
  • Develop and maintain dining operating procedures and guidelines:
  • Identify training needs, ensure training and development needs of supervisors, culinary and service staff are met.
  • Provides direct leadership and support to the dining services coordinators including recruitment, training, performance reviews and career development

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Relevant degree in culinary arts and/or business
  • Five (5) years progressive work-related experience leading multi-sites in is essential.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, prioritize and take initiative.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of seniors dining, nutrition, as well as Canada Food Guide  an asset
  • Proven ability to provide leadership and strategy with a focus on continuous improvement and building a high-performance culture.
  • Strong customer service focus and ability to relate with team members across the organization
  • Must have First aid, WHMIS, Safe Food Handling Course

Working Conditions:

  • Must have own vehicle, as travel within Calgary is required.
  • Must have the ability to respond to a variety of changing duties, work routines and work locations.
  • On occasion will work under somewhat challenging situations given deadlines; early or late hours may be required to address
