We currently have a full time contract opportunity within our dining services team. Under the leadership and direction of the Dining Services Manager, the Dining Services Coordinator functions as an integral part of the dining team.  To support operational excellence, the Dining Services Coordinator assists the Dining Services Manager in coordinating and directing the work of the community based dining services teams.

The Dining Services Coordinator is responsible for providing support and supervision to the team of Dining Services Supervisors to deliver and evaluate all aspects of the Dining Program in each community and across the organization. In addition, this role accesses necessary resources to fulfil program goals within the scope and budget of the program.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the Community Managers and Dining Services Supervisors in the successful implementation and delivery of services (Operational Excellence)
  • Ensure adherence to all safe food handling practices
  • Support the Dining Services Manager to implement learning and development initiatives
  • Provide day-to-day support to Dining Services Supervisors and Community Dining Staff in implementation of programs and services.
  • Evaluate delivery of existing program and services to support organization goals of resident engagement, employee engagement,  financial targets (Operational Excellence)

Desired skills:

  • Possess certification from professional culinary training institutions
  • Demonstrated 2-3 years of supervisory experience in catering, restaurant, or in a similar capacity
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and proven ability to motivate others towards continuous improvement in all aspects of Dining Services
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; additional languages are an asset
  • Must have WHMIS, ProServe and Food Safety courses, and may be required to hold First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Must have own vehicle as occasional travel is required
  • Ability to work in varying environments, both independently and as part of a high performing team
  • Be flexible and have the ability to respond to a variety of changing duties and work routines, on occasion work under somewhat stressful situations
