Integration Specialist

United Way of Calgary and Area is looking for a full-time Integration Specialist. Reporting to the Manager, IT Operations and Security, you are a key member of the IT team, managing all aspects of database operations and integrations. Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

 

  • Accountable for integrations – development, coding, code-review, deployment, monitoring and documentation
  • Investigate, troubleshoot and fix integrations
  • Develop, test, deploy and document integrations changes which meet functional requirements
  • Support code reviews for deployment of integrations
  • Ability to identify business processes and translate to technical requirements
  • Provide input, direction and execution on data integrations and databases, including definition, deployment and refinement.
  • Remain current with industry best practices; advocating where necessary or required
  • Review and submit change requests that come to the Change Advisory Board
  • Accountable for all aspects of database operations – integrity, backup, maintenance, performance, troubleshooting, monitoring, problem-solving, break-fix, and documentation
  • Has operational accountability for all production database environments at UWCA
  • Monitor for abnormalities in database performance and integrations; resolve issues outside the established baselines for databases;
  • Database access management; adhere to security model
  • Update and maintain operational documentation

 

Qualifications and Competencies:

 

  • Ability to collaborate and communicate well with others; great interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills both technically and when working with others
  • Diploma in IT, Computer Engineering Technology, or related discipline. An equivalent combination of proven training and experience is also acceptable
  • 5 years of experience with database management and integrations in Azure.
  • Proven experience designing integrations; Experience with testing automation is an asset
  • A certification in Microsoft SQL Server management is recommended
  • A MSCA certificate in SQL 2016 BI Development would be an asset
  • Some hours outside of business hours may be required (weekend/evening) for support
