Client Services Program Supervisor

Position Summary: This position is responsible for the growth of the Calgary Food Bank within the Social Services sector, including consulting services, partnership initiation, and coordination. The Program Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the Client Services’ program areas, representing the Calgary Food Bank as a community liaison, quality control and partnership communications.  

 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • -The day-to-day supervision of the Client Services program areas. 

  • Client Services policy development, education and quality control thereby ensuring that the Calgary Food Bank is best serving our clients and community. 

  • -Act as a resource on employee relations issues within the department.  

  • The supervision of the Client Services Program Coordinator and Associate team. 

  • -The management and maintenance of the Client Service’s database and overall data administration and reporting. 

  • -Maintain and update of Client Services records on the Calgary Food Bank internal SharePoint sites. 

  • -Assist with day-to-day Client Services administration when required (i.e. vacation coverage, Christmas). 

 

Tasks 

  • -Organize and prioritize work requirements for staff, ensuring tasks and duties are delegated appropriately.  

  • -Interpretation of Calgary Food Bank policies and procedures and ensuring team compliance. 

  • -Supervise and complete Calgary Food Bank Human Resources functions such as performance evaluations, job descriptions and management of time records for the department. 

  • -Liaising with key stakeholders and the Calgary Food Bank management team in support of effective people management, needs assessments, orientation and follow-through.  

  • -Initiate and ensure compliance with applicable safety procedures and processes. 

 

Decision Making and Leadership Capabilities: 

  • The decisions made by this position have organization wide implications.  Due to these implications, input on decisions will often be sought from key stakeholders. High impact decisions will be made in collaboration with the Client Services manager.  


  • This position supervises both people and programs and is the acting manager when required.  

 

Education and Experience Required: 

  • -Undergraduate degree in a relevant field. A specialization in community development is an asset.  

  • -Minimum 5 to 7 years of relevant work experience in the non-profit sector.   

-A relevant combination of education and experience will be considered. 


Skills and Capabilities:

  • -Possess a high level of inter personal skills and able to communicate effectively with diverse group of stakeholders including employees, volunteers, clients and the general public,

    • -Support the development of long-term strategies and funding. 

    • -Strong budgetary skills and /or accounting experience. 
    • -Demonstrated working knowledge of multiple functions in a non-profit environment preferred.  
    • -Demonstrated knowledge of Content Management Systems and Office 365 products, experience with client databases and a keen interest in technology.     

    • Working Conditions and Physical Requirements: 
    • This is a regular full-time position working regular business hours Monday to Friday. The successful candidate must be willing to work flexible hours as necessary. Working conditions are normal for an office environment. May be required to lift up to 20 lbs.
