Client Services Program Coordinator

The Calgary Food Bank is looking for a Program Coordinator to join our Client Services team! 

Position Summary: 

This position is responsible for new program development, program planning, partner training, community liaison and quality control within an assigned field of expertise.  

Primary Responsibilities:  

-The Coordinator will be expected to seek out new program opportunities, and create/modify courses, programs and activities to meet the evolving needs of the Calgary Food Bank’s clients, partner agencies and the community in general. 

  • -The Coordinator will handle multiple responsibilities, solve complex problems and provide leadership, supervision and direction to volunteers and staff ensuring consistency with the mission and vision of the Calgary Food Bank. 

 

Tasks: 

  • -Conduct market research and needs assessment to identify and develop alternate Calgary Food Bank program delivery opportunities. 

  • -Develop and maintain professional contacts with community partners and other internal and external stakeholders.  

  • -Work with other Calgary Food Bank staff to review and evaluate programming to ensure consistency while maximizing program opportunities.  

  • -Data collection and reporting to organize and centralize the Client Services’ files and records. 

  • -Develop contracts and agreements for programs. 

  • -Responsible for the orientation, supervision and training of volunteers. 

  • -Develop program budgets, assist in resolving budget issues and adjust program planning as appropriate.  

  • -Collaborate on the design of specific marketing materials including preparing program descriptions and write-ups. 

  • -Resolve customer complaints/inquiries which cannot be dealt with by front line staff. 

  • -Initiate and ensure compliance with applicable safety procedures and processes.  

 

Education and Experience Required: 

  • -Undergraduate degree in relevant field e.g. Business Administration, Policy Studies, Community Development or Non-Profit Management. 

  • -3-5 years of related work experience including experience in a customer service environment. 

  • -A relevant combination of education and experience will be considered. 

 

Skills and Capabilities: 

  • -Individual initiative and the ability to work under little or no supervision and under varying degrees of pressure. 

  • -Technically proficient and accurate; Advanced computer (Office365), numerical and analytical skills. 

  • -Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills to effectively deliver reports and presentation, build strong relationships with stakeholders and resolve conflicts. 

  • -Must be able to multitask and work in a very fluid and typically rapid-paced work environment, juggling demands from multiple projects. 

  • -Support the development of long-term strategies and funding. 

  • -Strong budgetary skills and /or accounting experience. 

 

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements: 

This is a regular full-time position working regular business hours Monday to Friday. The successful candidate must be willing to work flexible hours as necessary. Working conditions are normal for an office environment. May be required to lift up to 20 lbs.
