Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is accountable for the provision of technical, professional and strategic advice to the Board of Trustees, relevant Board Committees and the executive and senior management team of the Calgary Zoological Society and Calgary Zoo Foundation. The CFO has overall accountability for the Society’s and Foundation’s financial integrity through the analysis of the Society and Foundation’s financial performance, developing and providing financial statements and other reports that accurately depict the zoo’s financial status overall. The CFO is accountable for leading and providing overall strategic direction for the Finance and Information Technology departments of the Calgary Zoo in a manner consistent with the Calgary Zoological Society and Foundation’s mission and vision.

The successful candidate will possess a professional accounting designation with at least 12 to 15 years relevant financial leadership experience at an executive level. This individual will have a well-rounded background with strong business skills and a proven track record of integrating and aligning business strategies with organizational resources in a dynamic environment. This individual will champion sustained high-performance teamwork and organization-wide collaboration in a manner consistent with the Zoo’s team-oriented culture.
