Reporting to the Program Manager; Emily Graves, the Child Development Worker/Supervisor as designated by Alberta Child Care Certification, will be responsible for working with the Child Development Assistant for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of our after school care programming.

 

Our program focuses on the social and emotional needs of our participants ( 30 in total)  through planning meaningful and engaging activities that build their confidence, self-esteem, and create a place of comfort for them during the after school hours.

 

The program participants at Nose Creek Elementary are highly active, and they love engaging in sports, team building games, arts, crafts, technology and more. The possibilities are endless for you to create an out of school care program environment that embraces your passions, and the passions of our participants.

 

Here are some more details regarding this position

 

Key Responsibilities 

●     Development and implementation of social recreational and educational programs for children grades 1-4 focusing on social skill development and individual self-esteem enhancement

●     Volunteer management

●     Daily management including cleaning and ensuring facility health and safety

●     Ensures participant safety

●     Ensures all areas of programming adheres to Licensing Standards as directed by Alberta Human Services.

●     Ensures all areas of programming adheres to Accreditation Standards

●     Able to support the needs of children in a fast-paced, engaging childcare environment

●     Support Practicum/Volunteers as placed in Program

 

Skills

●     Child Development Worker or Supervisor (Level 2/3) Certification, as designated by Alberta Child Care Certification

●     Knowledge of  and dedication to creating programing that promotes positive social skills, self-esteem enhancement and child development in our participants

●     Previous experience caring for children and youth in a residential, or childcare environment

●     Excellent communication and organizational skills

●     Able to work as part of a team and model confidence during times of independence.

●     Certified in First Aid (Level B or C)

●     Ability to provide RCMP Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector, Child Intervention Check

●     Ability to apply and qualify for Child Care Certification as directed by Alberta Human Services

 

Hours of Work

This program is offered on School Days only. Additional hours may be available if requested.

 

General Schedule is 30 hours/week which includes program planning and development hours.

Direct Program Hours while working with our Out of School Care kids:

Monday - Thursday 2:30 – 6:00 PM

Fridays 12:30 – 6:00 PM

 

Wage Rate

$15.00-16.00 per hour - dependent on Staff Certification.

We are fully accredited.

Staff Support Top Up is applicable on Direct Child Care Hours only.
