Performance Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

Under the direction of the CEO this position will:

  • Work directly within individual clients to ensure efficient access to all DHA Programs and Services:
    • Coordinate all aspects of interpreting bookings between Deaf and Hearing Clients
    • Engage in direct sales of Accessible Equipment to individuals and families
    • Coordinate delivery of American sign Language classes, and Sensitivity Training
    • Coordinate Peer to hear programming, Safe sound awards, Sound Advice Programs
    • Assessing service requests and communicating with all parties involved to ensure optimum service match
  • Collaborate with corporations and funders:
    • Address service delivery concerns, ensure outstanding customer service
    • Advocate for clients to ensure communication access
    • Create or expand client relationships to encourage new sales or expand sales to new markets
  • Project Management
    • Successfully manage fulfillment of the VRI Project and Emergency Training Project
  • Collaborate with Community Partners to improve relationships
    • Attending all community partner events and providing education on programs and services, promoting the Association, and addressing concerns
    • Effectively communicating relevant Deaf & Hear Alberta policies and procedures – including education or clients on processes
  • Maintaining operational excellence by
    • Identifying gaps in service delivery and creating strategies to fill those gaps
    • Responding in a timely and professional manner to all requests for service within operational standards
    • Being a “face of DHA” by building relationships with Deaf clients, Interpreters, and hearing clients
    • Assessing service requests and communicating with all parties involved to ensure optimum service match
    • Communicating with clients in their preferred mode including phone, email, Skype, Glide, fax, text, TTY, Relay, VRS
    • Advocating for, and educating clients about, the Deaf and Hard of Hearing communities’ right to equal access to services and a clients’ duty to accommodate
  • Part-time 1-year contract, ~20 hours/week

  • Minimum of 5-years experience in sales and marketing, preferably in a charitable social enterprise environment
  • Minimum of 3-years experience working in a client-centered, service-based charitable environment or equivalent
  • Exceptional skills in Microsoft office systems and Customer Relationship Management databases
  • Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and strong understanding of Deaf Culture required
  • Part-time 1-year contract, ~20 hours/week
