POSITION TITLE: Accounting & Payroll Coordinator  

REPORTS TO: Vice President, Finance & Administration  


We currently have a full-time opening for an Accounting & Payroll Coordinator in our Calgary office.  Reporting to the Vice President, Finance and Administration, Accounting Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day accounts receivable, payroll and benefits administration functions and supporting the accounts payable functions.



  • Responsible for all accounts receivable functions.
  • Daily reconciliations of bank deposits with Dynamics CRM system.
  • Record sales transactions into accounting system.
  • Coordinate with other departments regarding issuing invoices, adjusting price, or cancelling invoices as needed.
  • Processing refunds following CPHR Alberta refund policy as need.
  • Process payments as needed in the system and Pin pad machine
  • Answering emails and phone calls regarding member inquiries and account information.
  • Prepare journal entries for payroll, conference and all other event payments.
  • Review and reconcile event transactions using PayPal and Constant Contract.
  • Prepare and record journal entries and reconcile accounts as needed.
  • Issue dues renewals, late renewals and prepare all paper invoices.
  • Maintain listing of account receivable and follow up on any overdue accounts.
  • Support with year-end audit, including reconciliations and recording of journal entries as needed as well as supporting auditors during field audit.
  • Assist with quarterly GST return.
  • Assist with preparing annual budget for Administration & Finance department
  • Process semi-monthly payroll
  • Provide support and respond to Payroll related concerns.
  • Maintain payroll data base, enter new hires, employee changes, terminations.
  • Monitor employee eligibility for benefits, provides benefit information to employees, enrolls employees into benefit plans, and processes employee health benefit claim forms.
  • Other duties to support department’s needs.

  • Diploma or degree in finance, commerce, accounting or a related field or combination of relevant education and experience
  • 3+ years’ of progressive experience in finance or accounting roles
  • Previous experience using Great Plains an asset
  • Previous Payroll experience
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and provincial legislation
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word & Outlook
