Family Resource Centre Facilitator

 Job Responsibilities (not limited to): 

  • Provide one-on-one assistance to clients to increase awareness, access to available community resources
  • Identify client / community needs and assets in conjunction with community partners and FRC Coordinator
  • Recruit program participants and promote a variety of programs
  • Research new and/or different approaches to family-centered learning activities
  • In conjunction with the Coordinator, participate in the development and planning of programs and activities
  • Facilitate the delivery of planned programming
  • Responsible for the supervision of clients, programs and services during Family Resource Centre hours
  • Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for Family Resource Centre clients
  • Maintain records of client intake, referrals, statistics and demographic data
  • Represent WINS at community events as required  

Job Requirements: 

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Post-secondary degree related to Community Development, Social Work, and/or Education is required.
  • A combination of education and experience (minimum of 3 years) will be considered.
  • Knowledge of local non-profit agencies, community programs and services
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work closely with children, adults and colleagues
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Knowledge and ability to facilitate and organize structured learning activities
  • Experience working with marginalized populations and an understanding of issues that may impact women in crisis and/or in low income situations 
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations
  • Self-motivated and a reliable team player
  • Working knowledge of Office 365: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Must have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Must have access to a reliable vehicle
  • Must be available to work evening shifts
  • Must be available to work Saturdays
  • Must be able to work at any of our Family Resource Centre locations
  • Must provide satisfactory results of a Vulnerable Sector Search check through Calgary Police Service
