Youth Volunteer Corps Program Coordinator

Youth Central is a dynamic, creative and energetic non-profit organization, with the mission to “inspire, engage and celebrate youth through community participation.” 

The YVC program is Youth Central’s largest program. The purpose of YVC is to provide meaningful team-based volunteer opportunities to young people between the ages of 12 and 18 in partnership with community agencies and events.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Program Director. For more information on Youth Central and the Youth Volunteer Corps program, please go to



  • Oversee the operation of the YVC program ensuring volunteer projects are running smoothly, are safe and provide a meaningful experience for youth volunteers
  • Oversee volunteer application approval and database logistics and manage volunteer registration fee
  • Manage existing community partnerships (including fees, renewals and relationships)
  • Enter information regarding volunteer projects, approval of volunteers and all other information relevant to operation of the volunteer database and website
  • Oversee the distribution, collection and compilation of evaluation information to assist with program evaluation and growth
  • Manage the Youth Volunteer Corps Steering Committee, planning and executing events that arise from the YVC Steering Committee
  • Build and maintain strategic community partnerships and relationships with community agencies, community associations and community events
  • Look for opportunities for growth of the YVC program
  • Liaise with the Youth Volunteer Corps Headquarters
  • Responsible for responding to general inquiries regarding YVC
  • Work with the Outreach Coordinator to ensure all volunteer projects are staffed
  • Liaise with the non-profit community to identify needs, create youth volunteer opportunities and develop community partnerships
  • Writing of reports
  • Flexibility to help out with special projects and other office functions as they arise



  • Post-secondary education, and/or 1 to 3 years of related experience
  • Administrative skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working with youth, and enjoys working with youth of all ages
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Personally motivated and dependable
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including some work on evenings and weekends
  • Enthusiastic and positive attitude!
  • Computer knowledge of Microsoft Office (minimum requirement)
  • Experience with graphic design, Better Impact and Google Drive an asset
