Wellington Place-Youth Worker

Internal/External McMan Calgary Wellington Place-Youth Worker .5 FTE (20hrs/week) Position

McMan Calgary is a responsive and innovative partner for building community capacity by supporting over 2300 children, youth, adults and families in a single year. With a continuum of programs that address prevention and intervention, individuals have been successfully empowered to fulfill their potential in the Calgary community.

Under the direction of the Program Supervisor, the Youth Worker is responsible for working with youth who are experiencing or at risk of becoming homeless. The Youth Worker is responsible for organizing and coordinating all general aspects of our youth’s day to day needs (e.g., house responsibilities, managing a client caseload, organizing and coordination case conferences supporting in the transition plan and ongoing service plan goals). The Youth Worker ensures that program goals and objectives are maintained and the young people are supported and supervised to ensure their needs are being met.  This position will require weekend and evening shifts.

The ideal candidate will have a degree or diploma in a human services discipline; current Child Intervention Record Check and Police Information Check; excellent organizational and communication skills; and knowledge of the issues of youth homelessness and resources.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • · Diploma/Degree in Human Services
    · Police check and Child Intervention Record Check (current within six months)
    · Strong writing, organizational, program planning and interpersonal skills
    · Valid Driver’s license and adequate insurance coverage.

Salary Range:     $22,109.00 to $24,403.00 per year
