Supervisor, Multicultural School Support

The Position:

Title: Supervisor, Multicultural School Support                    Job Type:   0.6 FTE, one-year maternity leave contract  


Catholic Family Service is seeking an innovative and self-initiating individual to be responsible for clinical, administrative, program and agency leadership within its Community Services division and, in particular, the Multicultural School Support program as part of a team of dedicated and passionate professionals. In partnership with the Calgary Catholic Separate School District, the Multicultural School Support program supports students and families within the District to increase their capacity to transition to the Canadian school environment, address issues that may impact their success and act as a system navigator with community resources for the family. The Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision of five support workers and reports to the Director of Community Services. This role is best suited to a self-starter who possesses strong competencies in supervisory, program management and leadership skills.


Qualifications Required:


—  Graduate degree in Social Work, Psychology or academic equivalent

—  Eligible and in good standing with professional governing body, if applicable

—  Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working with vulnerable populations, preferably with newcomer/immigrant populations

—  Previous experience in a supervisory and/or program management capacity

—  Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills with a demonstrated ability to take initiative

—  Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills with experience working in a multidisciplinary team

—  Ability to support staff with clinical consultation and case management

—  Experience with quality assurance processes and data management and validation

—  Effective written and verbal communication skills

—  Highly organized with effective time management skills
