St. Martin’s Anglican Church

 

St. Martin’s is currently seeking a Sunday School teacher. 

 

As Sunday School teacher, you will be responsible for the following:

  • planning weekly lessons using the Whirl Curriculum for 2-6 children per week between the ages of 4 and 11;
  • maintaining Sunday School supplies;
  • working with the Youth Ministry Coordinator to produce the annual Christmas play, as well as pursuing opportunities for the children to connect with the youth of the parish;
  • sharing ideas for children’s participation in worship with the rector and helping plan such participation, particularly on Festal Days such as Easter, Christmas, Palm Sunday, All Saints’, etc.;
  • maintain a positive relationship with children and their parents, keeping an up-to-date contact list and answering questions or concerns as they arise;
  • connecting with visitors to the church, welcoming children to Sunday School and following up to invite them to visit again in the future;
  • able to work collaboratively with the rector, parish administrator, and parish members, possessing excellent communication skills, self-initiative, and creativity.

 

Hours:  Sundays from 9:45-11:15 am, plus weekly planning for Sunday and other tasks related to the above.  Approximately 10-12 hours per month.  Monthly pay of $200.  One month’s vacation included.
