We currently have a Part-Time Contract opportunity in our Westview office in SW Calgary. As a Placement Coordinator you would be a member of support services team and would be reporting to the Placement Supervisor, the Placement Coordinator is responsible for supporting the placement of residents through the effective management of eligible applicants.

 Key responsibilities include:

  • Works to support Silvera’s service vision and goals; assuring consistent quality in processes and communication.
  • Maintains regular contact with prospective residents who are currently waitlisted and (re)assess for eligibility within Silvera’s portfolio using program assessment measures.
  • Prioritizes and recommends, based on prospective resident’s identified needs and program availability, f resident placement within Silvera communities.
  • Works closely with Resident Support Coordinators and Community Managers to enable community-based placement.
  • Provides statistical data and documentation, as required, and makes recommendations to ensure occupancy rates are effectively managed.
  • Maintains case management database to ensure that prospective residents are receiving adequate communication and supports through the placement process.

Desired qualifications:

  • Degree/Diploma in the Human Services field and/or 3 years related work experience.
  • Experience working with seniors, housing, social services, or other equivalent combinations would be a definite asset. Working knowledge of landlord and tenant regulations is an asset.
  • Gerontology certificate or coursework in the aging process a definite asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal, facilitating and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Computer proficiency, particularly with case management/property management software and Microsoft Office would be an asset.
  • Ability to work independently in a cooperative team environment, good problem-solving, innovative critical thinking and resourcefulness.
  • Commissioner of Oaths certification, or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license and use of own vehicle are required.
