Program Coordinator

The Calgary Chamber of Voluntary Organizations (CCVO) promotes and strengthens individual organizations and the nonprofit sector by building capacity through undertaking research, developing resources, strengthening connections, and providing leadership on critical, systemic issues that impact the nonprofit sector. CCVO operates as a backbone organization for the nonprofit sector through providing practical supports and meaningful information, and advocating for and connecting sector organizations and stakeholders.

Reporting to the Director, Policy and Programs, the Program Coordinator provides a broad range of support to CCVO’s programs, services, events and internal operations.  If you are energized by stimulating, meaningful work and the opportunity to make a difference through your contribution, this position may be for you.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Coordination

  • Provides program support and oversight to a variety of CCVO’s capacity building and convening activities.
  • Coordinates and organizes a variety of committees, task groups and communities of practices.
  • Undertakes research to support capacity building activities initiatives, such as identifying resources or preparing background material.
  • Monitors the environment for opportunities to connect with and build on other related initiatives, locally and provincially.
  • Supports the development of funding proposals and required reporting for capacity building activities.

Communications

  • Develops and maintains effective communications to keep stakeholders informed and engaged.  
  • Develop and maintains communications with other initiatives in order to facilitate information exchange, identify innovative ideas and solutions and facilitate collaboration.
  • In conjunction with CCVO staff, maintains a centralized electronic resource for capacity building resources, information, etc.
  • Develops promotional materials for events and workshops.

Administration

  • Provides administrative and technical support at events and meetings.
  • Creates, updates and maintains contact and distribution lists.
  • Compiles statistics for CCVO workshops, events, etc.
  • Other duties as may be required.
