Program Assistant - Team 3


Who are we?  The Alex.  We are change makers, forward thinkers and community builders and we are growing.  As part of our multi-disciplinary team, you would be part of the movement to bring innovative health and social solutions to Calgary’s most vulnerable.  One of our programs, Pathways to Housing Program, is a Housing First Program that supports formally homeless individuals.  With a focus on harm reduction, this uniquely client-driven approach utilizes an Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team.  We are currently seeking a Program Assistant for our Team 3.

The scope of work and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Answering switchboard, taking accurate messages and directing calls as necessary
  • Meeting and greeting clients and visitors to the office
  • Processing and distributing meeting notes and charting information on an electronic  management system
  • Assisting the team with paperwork, filing, photocopying, faxing, etc.
  • Maintaining telephone contact lists
  • Organizing special events

Desired qualifications include:

  • Grade 12 diploma
  • Completion of secretarial and/or business courses
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Minimum two years administrative experience
  • Minimum one year of experience  working with individuals experiencing mental health diagnoses, addiction, and/or homelessness
  • Experience with management of paper and electronic files
  • Familiarity with intermediate level Microsoft Office Suite
  • Attentive to detail
  • Reliable
