NMT Clinician- 3 Year Term Position

 Trauma Informed Care Services Program

The Trauma Informed Care Services Program at Hull  is responsible for internal and external training, clinical consultation, and clinical services.  The primary role of the Clinician hired into this position is to support the Director of Trauma Informed Services in the implementation of the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT) across the agency and in collaboration with external agencies. 

The Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics is a developmentally sensitive, neurobiology-informed approach to clinical problem solving. NMT is not a specific therapeutic technique or intervention. It is an approach that integrates core principles of neurodevelopment and traumatology to inform work with children, families and the communities in which they live. The Neurosequential Approach has three key components – training/capacity building, assessment and then, the specific recommendations for the selection and sequencing of therapeutic, educational and enrichment activities that match the needs and strengths of the individual.


  • Based upon a 37.5 hour work week.
  • Clinician will travel as required to provide training and consultation


  • Training programs within the agency in NMT concepts and implementation as approved by the Program Director
  • Training external agencies in NMT concepts and implementation as requested
  • Providing consultation on cases using the NMT approach and NMT metric
  • Assisting in the development and fidelity of implementation across programs
  • Providing clinical support in program milieu
  • Involvement  in outcome planning, tracking, and analysis
  • Administration and program development
  • Planning conferences and training



  • A Master's Degree from a relevant university program.
  • Eligibility to become a Registered Social Worker or Registered Psychologist.
  • Related experience in clinical areas.
  • Strong clinical skills
  • Some background in research is an asset
  • Strong knowledge base in the field of mental health
  • Interest in continued learning and keeping current with the field
  • Certification in the Neurosequential Model preferred
  • Personal qualities an asset,
    • Leadership;
    • Organizational and managerial qualities;
    • Eligibility for independent practice with a governing body (e.g., College of Alberta Psychologists)
    • Strong relationship abilities;
    • Effective communication skills;
    • Maturity and stability;
