Manager, Facilities

Some people see bricks and mortar and you see the magic of how an organization’s facilities can support the achievement of great things and create amazing experiences for those who work in or visit the facilities. This role is responsible for strategically and operationally managing all aspects of YW facilities; this role is less technically focused with emphasis on your leadership & managerial capability. With your strong managerial skillset you can lead and grow us into the future. You’re a master of prioritizing and getting things done with a positive, collaborative approach.

This is an exciting time to be a team member at YW Calgary as we embark on our Transformation plan that over the next two + years sees the construction of new facilities, the decommission of our downtown facility and much more. Yes, we’re building new digs but we’ve always been an organization “on the move” adapting and growing our programs to meet community needs for more than 106 years. Although this role is not responsible for the new construction there is work to be done to be ready to transition from the old to the new.

  • Leading and developing people while managing  and continuously improving processes
  • Seeing the big picture and formulating the work plan and steps along the way that will get you and your team achieving success
  • Creating rapport and relationships across the organization that result in synergy
  • Balancing the response to emerging needs with staying focused on the important, long term work
  • Bringing your change skills to work and having the fortitude to see projects through to success
  • Working in a dynamic environment and having a day filled with variety

  • Strategically & operationally manage all aspects of YW facilities
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets
  • Vendor relationship and contract management
  • Lead a team with full human resources cycle (hire great people, create a high performing team, support them with feedback, setting expectations, holding people to account…)

  • Achieved a degree or diploma in building management or related field – if you have a different  background let us know how you think it sets you up for success in this role
  • Developed your leadership and management skills
  • Demonstrated success and experience with facilities management
  • Honed your interpersonal and communications skills

If you want to work to change lives, we want to meet you.
