MANAGER, CORPORATE AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Immigrant Services Calgary is looking for a full-time Manager for Corporate and Community Engagement to serve as a liaison between Immigrant Services Calgary and its stakeholders through ongoing engagement to support the strategic objectives of the agency.

Reporting directly to the CFO, the primary goals of the Manager, Corporate and Community Engagement is to grow the organization’s revenue by developing new and existing relationships to increase public awareness of ISC’s various programs, services and initiatives. Key areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to researching, identifying and fostering corporate and program development initiatives and donor stewardship.
 
Duties:


• Design, implement, manage and evaluate innovative strategies for engagement of corporate and  community sectors to support ISC’s strategic goals  
• Develop, recommend and implement resource and program development strategies, goals and work plans that reflect and support ISC’s strategic direction and objectives
• Identify, initiate and cultivate new strategic corporate and community partnerships to enhance ISC’s program and fund development opportunities
• Identify, research, cultivate and solicit prospective donors, sponsors and public foundations for long term and immediate success
• Build strong written cases for financial support and develop campaign branding and related marketing/communication strategies for specific initiatives
• Oversee ad hoc corporate engagement projects, and periodical events and initiatives such as the annual Immigrants of Distinction Awards
• Work closely with ISC’s Communications and Marketing staff to promote effective public awareness and engagement
• In partnership with program directors and relevant committees prepare and/or contribute to the preparations of  innovative and persuasive funding proposals and grant applications to corporations, foundations, government and community partners
• Ensure all resource development activities and functions are in accordance with legal and ethical standards, including CRA, Fundraising by Registered Charities
• Ensure donor  recognition, follow up and on-going engagement
• Act as a goal and results oriented leader in building corporate and community partnerships, for a long-term engagement
• Manage donor databases and maintain appropriate and accurate records and files pertaining to all donors development and gift solicitation activities and produce required reports

 Qualifications:

• Degree/Diploma in fundraising, marketing, event planning or related discipline
• CFRE/ACFRE Designation will be considered an asset
• At least 4 years of “hands on” experience in fund development, communications, and marketing in the non-profit and/or public sector 
• Degree or experience in social sciences would be considered an asset
• Knowledge and practice of effective and ethical fundraising standards
• Highly effective interpersonal, time management and organizational skills
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Experience in grant and proposal writing and building cases for support  
• Experience in designing and managing successful events, program and fund development initiatives
• Leadership skills along with business acumen
• High degree of innovation, self-motivation and accountability
• Comfortable working with media and experience working with diverse groups
• Cross-cultural sensitivity
• Availability to work evenings and occasional weekends
