Learning Disabilities and ADHD Network - Project Manager

The vision of the Calgary Region LD and ADHD Network is:

Individuals with LD and or ADHD will have the necessary support, resources and opportunities within the Calgary region to be successful and thrive.

Members of the Network include:

Alberta Health Services, Calgary Catholic School District, Calgary Board of Education, , Calgary Immigrant Women’s Association, University of Calgary, Owerko Centre, ADHD Parent Group, Rundle Academy, Calgary Academy, Calgary and Area Independent Schools and the Learning Disabilities Association of Alberta.  The Network is supported by two the backbone agencies:  CanLearn Society and Foothills Academy Society

Key Role and Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment of key stakeholders and orientation of new members
  • Maintain and update circulation lists, and shared google drive
  • Oversee set up, update and maintenance of website
  • Handle logistics and administrative details for the initiative to function smoothly.
  • Manage and facilitate the coordination of initiative activities including executive and steering committee, action groups, and community engagement activities.
  • Ongoing facilitation and communication among partners
  • Organize strategic planning
  • Ensure the implementation of action plan
  • Coordinate development of work plans and milestones, track progress of achieving results and provide status reports to partners.
  • Coordinate and work in partnership with lead organizations responsible for identifying policy and systems barriers and developing solutions for coordinated action
  • Resource development and proposal writing
  • Develop a budget, monitor expenditures and report on grant funds
  • Manage evaluation activities, analyze results and communicate to members
  • Prepare communications materials, enable media & government relations opportunities
  • Coordinate efforts with local and national evaluators and data partners.
  • Create a positive view of the work in the community.
  • As strategy of the network shifts the key responsibilities may also change

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in one of the following areas: project management, health, community development or education
  • Experience in bridge-building with different groups and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated understanding of policy and systems change frameworks.
  • Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team and ability to work in a complex environment requiring significant collaboration.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to think strategically in the design, integration and execution of actions
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in written and oral communication; ability to communicate complex issues to a variety of audiences.
  • Familiarity with Calgary and understanding of the local community.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree and/or certification in project management preferred.
  • Familiarity with special education, Learning Disabilties and ADHD preferred.
  • Knowledge of grant-making and philanthropy a plus.
  • Skills in facilitation and experience in conflict resolution

Position:

This is a full-time role which will be based out of the CanLearn Society office (Suite 100, 1117 Macleod Trail SE Calgary, AB).  Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
