IT Coordinator for Infrastructure Management & End User Support

Calgary Counselling Centre is looking for a full-time IT Coordinator to work with internal staff and external consultants to maintain the integrity of the agency’s information and technology systems.  Reporting to the Director, Business Operations and implementing the IT Strategy as laid out by the Chief Information Officer, the IT Coordinator will work to support the systems we already have, will work with our vendors and custom software suppliers to implement new/upgraded software, and work with our leadership team to understand new/unfilled requirements and how to get the best out of the software and systems we have. Lastly, this position requires the candidate to be comfortable and capable of applying updates and patches to our servers and PCs via our support system.

What is the role?     

Full-time IT Coordinator:

  • Independently support multiple complex systems while delivering excellent service to internal customers.
  • Help to develop and maintain the integrity of the agency’s information and technology systems, as well as associated technical processes.  
  • Support all end users by trouble shooting and resolving day-to-day issues.
  • Work on new projects and able to identify technical solutions or other potential response for complex problems.
  • Apply innovative strategies in your work on a daily basis.
  • Manage database servers and systems supporting the agency’s research emphasis.
  • Determine audio and visual training support requirements; support in the use and development of voice-over presentations.

Experience and qualities required

  • Strong desire to manage the IT needs of a fast-paced agency by yourself, with some support for significant projects. 
  • Certificate from college or technical school, 2-4 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Able to provide strong customer service with a planned approach, as well as respond in a timely manner to urgent needs and concerns.
  • Be self-motivated, detail-oriented and organized.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Windows 10 and Windows Server platforms.
  • Proficient in Internet related applications; Office 365 both desktop and online, basic SharePoint administration and Adobe particularly desired.
  • Must be confident enough to ask questions, receive direction and confirm achievements.
