Calgary Counselling Centre is looking for a Full-time IT Coordinator to work with internal staff and external consultants to develop and maintain the integrity of the agency’s information and technology systems, as well as associated technical processes.   Reporting to the Business Operations Officer and implementing the IT strategy as laid out by the Chief Information Officer, the IT Coordinator will support all end users by trouble shooting and resolving day-to-day issues. Responsibilities include:

  • Provide training to clients in the use of systems and applications using problem solving techniques
  • Provide technical assistance to computer system users
  • Troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware/software faults; replacing parts as required
  • Ensure a secure IT environment
  • Create and close IT user accounts according to company protocols
  • Manage database servers and structure supporting the agency’s research emphasis
  • Work closely with external specialists on development, implementation, and maintenance of tools and systems; supporting the roll-out of new applications
  • Maintain, develop, and expand Share Point portal sites
  • Help document business processes, policies and procedures relating to information technology
  • Determine audio and visual training support requirements; support in the use and development of voice-over presentations
  • Identify potential new software to support business processes and move the business forward
  • Maintain the IT helpdesk ticket system and track IT projects and progress

Experience and Qualities required:

  • Able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
  • Possess  excellent customer service and time management skills – able to manage and balance time between resolving IT helpdesk tickets, undertaking day-to-day patching, and completing IT projects
  • Be self-motivated, detail-oriented and organized
  • Have sound business process skills and judgement
  • Experienced with Microsoft and Windows platforms
  • Proficient in Internet related applications; Office 365 both desktop and online, basic Share Point administration and Adobe particularly desired
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to analyze a problem, assess what is needed and how to best achieve it
  • Must be confident enough to ask questions, receive direction and confirm achievements
  • Certificate from college or technical school; or 2-4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
