In Schools Program Coordinator

Youth Central is a dynamic, creative and energetic non-profit organization, with the mission to “inspire, engage and celebrate youth through community participation.”  Youth Central is seeking an equally dynamic and creative individual, who is comfortable with public speaking and connecting to a youth audience.  

 

This full-time In Schools Program Coordinator reports directly to the Program Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Provide daily presentations on volunteerism, Youth Central, and philanthropy to schools and the community
  • Oversee the In Schools program
  • Work closely with school contacts and support individual schools with their volunteer projects
  • Build and maintain strategic community partnerships and relationships with schools
  • Look for new opportunities for partnership and growth for the program and Youth Central
  • Be a community representative for Youth Central and a strong role-model for children and youth
  • Responsible for responding to general inquiries regarding the program
  • Flexibility to help out with special projects and other office functions as they arise, especially during the summer months
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records
  • Report writing

 

MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Post secondary education, and/or 2 to 3 years of related experience
  • Excellent public speaking skills and ability to speak and connect with diverse audiences
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Personally motivated and dependable
  • Volunteer experience!
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task
  • Experience working with youth, and enjoys working with youth of all ages
  • Administrative skills
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including some work on evening and weekends
  • Access to a vehicle and valid driver's license
  • Enthusiastic and positive attitude!
  • Computer knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite (minimum requirement)
  • Experience with graphic design, website design, WordPress and social media an asset

 

Start date: End of July - mid-August 2018
