Position:                                     Human Resources Coordinator

Responsible to:                          Human Resources Advisor

 Terms of Employment:            32 hours per week                

 Functional Statement:

The Human Resources Coordinator works in partnership with the HR Advisor to achieve the human resources objectives of the agency. 

The primary focus is on improving HR processes, and practices and recommending changes that contribute to efficient operations.  This position requires an individual who able to work both independently and as part of a team in the application of HR policies and procedures and to be a visionary in the creation of systems and practices that promote CCIS as an employer of choice. An interest and commitment to independent research, data collection & analysis, and systems design and implementation is paramount to the success of the position and the department.

Responsibilities:

1. Provides leadership to and participates in the recruitment process for all divisions of CCIS.

2.  Ensures that position descriptions accurately portray position responsibilities and result          
     from comprehensive and periodic job evaluation/reviews.

3.  Is familiar with various HR software platforms and other technological applications to generate
      accurate employment records and reports.

4.  Provide support in the administration of the CCIS Employee Benefits program. 

  • In conjunction with the HR Advisor, ensures that Human Resources Policies & Procedures
  •        are consistent with  industry standards and current legislation.

  • In the absence of the HR Advisor, will be a resource to all staff on personnel issues.
  • Will have some familiarity with accreditation systems with a commitment to continuous   
            improvement.
  • Will be a key player in the design and implementation of the CCIS Professional Development and Succession Planning  process
  • Qualifications

  • Completion of a university degree with a focus on Human Resources management.
  • Three years experience in a Human Resources capacity.
  • Familiarity with various HRIS platforms.
  • Completion of/or working towards a CHRP designation.
  • Knowledge of current Canadian employment practices, human resources policy/procedures, employment standards and human rights legislation.
  • Must be capable of multi-tasking and be committed to a vision and practice of treating people with respect, dignity and discretion.
  • Technologically conversant with the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
