Permanent Part-Time 3-4 days per week

The Alex Community Health Centre is a not-for-profit organization that has been operating in Calgary since 1973. The Alex provides services and programs to individuals and families who experience barriers to health. Using a multidisciplinary team approach, we focus on assessment, intervention, and promotion of all aspects of health and determinants of health. We embrace a model of healthcare that is accessible, responsive, and participatory. In addition to the Youth, Family, Seniors, and Complex Care Health Centers, we run two mobile Community Health Buses, one Community Dental Bus, three Housing Programs, a Community Food Centre and CLERC - legal support for Children and Youth. 

What you will do:

  • Help develop & implement an effective onboarding strategy including new hire orientations
  • Work with HR team to develop a process for periodically reviewing & updating job descriptions & postings
  • Prepare and post open positions
  • Screen applicants, arrange interviews and maintain tracking system
  • Ensuring reference checks are completed
  • Develop bank of effective  interview questions
  • Oversee Practicum process which includes, liaising with educational institutes, assign placements within organization, onboarding, preparing correspondence and reports
  • Provide general administrative support such as preparing correspondence, forms and reports
  • Document human resources actions by participating in benefit and industry surveys
  • Assisting with the day-to-day operation with the HR team which includes benefits, contracts, filing etc.

What you bring:

  • College diploma or additional post-secondary education
  • Minimum 2+ years HR related experience
  • Strong administration skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft office, especially spreadsheets, PowerPoint and HRIS
  • Maintains employee confidence and protecting operations by keeping HR information confidential
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills and approachable demeanor
  • Strong communication skills both written & verbal
  • Ability to work as a part of a team
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work accurately with attention to detail
