Director – Resource Development and Community Engagement

Hull Services is seeking a Director of Resource Development and Community Engagement. This is an exciting role for an entrepreneurial, creative, assertive, self-motivated, strategically driven individual who has a proven track record in organizational branding, marketing, fundraising and community/donor engagement.  Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Resource Development and Community Engagement will play a key role within Hull’s Executive Management Team as an inspiring leader and exemplary strategist. This role is responsible for achieving ambitious resource development targets and implementing systems and procedures to support the growth of fundraising and social capital that will sustain and grow the Agency and expand its influence.  The Director of Resource Development and Community Engagement works directly with the Board Resource Development Committee, the Executive Management team and all departments and programs throughout the Agency.  This position also plays a key role as Hull’s representative, working in close collaboration with an extensive range of community organizations.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Establish a strong Hull Services brand and community profile.
  • Build strong and lasting relationships with community stakeholders and donors to advance the fundraising and branding goals of the Agency.
  • Lead creative and progressive approaches to planning and execution of fundraising, marketing, and communications with a focus on delivering results.
  • Research, prepare and submit grant applications as outlined in the resource development plan to generate funds for the Agency.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the team and its work against aggressive targets and provide reports to support Agency planning and accountability.
  • Ensure that fundraising, communication and engagement activities align with the Agency’s values, mission, vision and strategic plan.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree from an accredited University, with Master’s or CFRE preferred.
  • 5 or more years of experience in fundraising/donor recruitment/marketing/sales preferred and a proven track record of setting, achieving and exceeding concrete and ambitious targets.
  • Experience working as part of a successful Executive Team and/or with Board committees will be an asset.
  • Ability to organize, motivate and manage large numbers of volunteers, as well as a core team of staff.
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills, with an entrepreneurial edge and a passion for meeting and exceeding targets.
  • Personal initiative, independence, reliability, and effectiveness in developing creative approaches to achieve Agency goals.
  • Successful record of establishing and maintaining effective and professional relationships with donors, community partners, and stakeholders.
