COORDINATOR OF COMMUNICATIONS AND MARKETING

Responsibilities

  • Identify and assist in the development and implementation of communication and marketing strategies
  • Research, write, edit, proofread and produce high quality print and electronic materials promoting agency services
  • Support all communication and marketing activities in relation to ISC’s main signature event “Immigrants of Distinction Awards”
  • Adjust and send promotional blasts, PSA’s and event follow-up emails 
  • Manage all social media presence and online marketing campaigns to promote agency services
  • Implement brand consistency
  • Work in conjunction with all departments to ensure quality content and distribution of ISC’s annual report
  • Coordinate media relations  as it pertains to internal and external activities and events
  • Manage ISC’s presence on social media platforms
  • Use analytical tools to measure and grow audiences and conduct daily media monitoring for reporting purposes
  • Coordinate ISC’s  website content and assist in website redesigning as necessary
  • Assist with the implementation of ISC’s Advocacy and Communications Plan
  • Work interdepartmentally to ensure that all aspects of agency activities are communicated and presented in accordance with our mission and communication guidelines
  • Act as an ambassador in the community embarking on every opportunity to share and promote our mission, vision and values, and services and activities that support them
  • Assist with other initiatives as directed

 Skills & Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in communications and/or marketing
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to communicate messages in a professional and engaging manner
  • Exceptional organizational abilities and time management skills
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating communication and marketing plans and materials
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office programs) and proficiency working with Adobe tools (Illustrator, Indesign, Photoshop)
  • Good knowledge of website maintenance and use of a variety of content management systems including CiviCRM
  • Social Media experience with an understanding of Search Engine Optimization and Analytics
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment; adaptable and responsive to shifting priorities
  • Willing to work occasional evenings and weekends and overtime during peak periods
  • Cross-cultural sensitivity
