POSITION SUMMARY

 

Supervisor: Calgary Program Manager

 

Location: Calgary, AB

This role is responsible for recruiting 100-150+ eligible and suitable young adults each year for NPower Canada’s youth-focused workforce development program in Calgary. Recruitment goals will expand as the program continues to grow and thrive.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Program Recruitment

● Ensure that Calgary program enrollment targets are achieved and exceeded through implementing results-focused recruitment strategies.

● Generate and maintain a high-volume pipeline of qualified applicants.

● Cultivate and grow relationships with at least 15-20 community partners (educators, NGOs, social assistance offices) who will each refer 10-15 youth to the program each year.

● Clearly articulate the benefits of developing mutual referral partnerships with NPower Canada to prospective community partners.

● Ensure that diversity and inclusion goals are achieved.

 

Youth Outreach and Engagement Activities

● Engage youth from diverse communities facing multiple barriers to employment.

● Distribute marketing materials to libraries, community centres, nonprofits, schools, drop-in centres, shelters and other spaces where youth congregate.

● Deliver engaging and interactive information sessions to youth across Calgary, effectively promoting NPower Canada programs and services.

● Utilize social media and other online channels to connect directly with prospective applicants.

● Support in planning and promoting in-reach initiatives, i.e. monthly open houses, at Calgary program delivery site.

● Make cold calls to prospective non-profit organizations, government agencies and departments, schools and other potential referral partners.

 

Client Service

● Work with Admissions Coordinator to ensure that all applicants receive timely, professional and empathetic client service.

● Work with Program Manager and Admissions Coordinator to provide ineligible applicants with warm referrals to other, more suitable pre-employment interventions.

● Demonstrate care, empathy and respect when interacting with all applicants, understanding that these are youth facing significant challenges in their lives.

● Work with Program Manager to de-escalate and resolve applicant complaints; work with Admissions Coordinator to maintain a 95% customer satisfaction rate.

● Work with Admissions Coordinator to ensure that online applications and inquiries from applicants and community partners receive responses within 48 business hours.

 

Administration and Reporting 

● Liaise with the Admissions Coordinator to prepare weekly recruitment reports for Program Manager regarding application targets and outcomes, completed outreach sessions and new contacts made.

● Input and maintain accurate referral partner contact information in Salesforce. Schedule follow-up calls and reminders to stay connected with referral partners

● Meet with Program Manager on a weekly basis to review monthly action plan, targets and outreach strategies.

 

Other Duties

● Attend site-specific team meetings, employer events and presentations, and alumni events as required.

● Join site teams in delivering information sessions and interviewing candidates for the program as requested.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

● At least 2-3 years of experience in community outreach and youth engagement.

● Relevant post-secondary education in human services or another related field.

● Extensive professional network within the Calgary human services sector, preferably with a strong focus on youth and employment programs.

● Demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed program enrollment outcomes.

● Strong partnership development and relationship management skills.

● Proven ability to engage, motivate and inspire opportunity youth.

● Exceptional communication and presentation skills.

● Proficiency in Salesforce or a similar CRM application.

● Digital competency: ability to work with technology, collaborate with others and work effectively in a modern, digital environment.
