Our mission is to ensure that adolescent girls, young women and their families have the ability to access knowledge and services that will enhance their skills to prevent self-harming behaviors and ultimately to thrive and develop positive relationships.

The foundation is a catalyst for highly-effective adolescent mental health care, specifically anxiety related issues such as depression, eating disorders and self-harm. 

Our purpose is two-fold:  1.  To create space for the dissemination of research and best practices, shared learning and connection; and  2.  To enhance access to specialized treatment for teens and their families.


Clinical Director Role-part-time, hours negotiable

Job brief

We are looking for a competent Clinical Director to organize and support therapists and their therapeutic practice for clients accessing therapy through the foundations’ subsidy program. The successful candidate will be responsible for clinical supervision, therapeutic practice continuity and programming efficacy with all therapists working with the foundation.

As clinical director you must possess excellent management and mentoring skills. You must be an outstanding communicator able to resolve conflicts and issues. If you also have a deep respect for policies and ethics and can inspire that in others, you are ideal for the role.

The goal is to ensure the smooth running of the therapeutic practices the foundation supports, aiming to maximum performance and service to individuals and their families who are accessing subsidies from the foundation.




  • Devising strategies and plans for the therapeutic practices according to company standards for excellent service and growth
  • Hosting and facilitating quarterly therapeutic team meetings
  • Assessing current therapeutic practices supported by the foundation and recommending additional areas of best practice and capacity building with therapists
  • Recruit therapists for the subsidy program who align with the foundation’s therapeutic standards
  • Coordinate and supervise staff providing constructive feedback through quarterly meetings and telephone support
  • Work with Executive Director to provide professional development opportunities with therapists in the subsidy program and within the larger mental health sector
  • Evaluate performance of therapists when asked by foundation Executive Director
  • Monitor compliance to legal guidelines, internal policies and quality standards


  • Proven experience as clinical/therapeutic director or other managerial position
  • Experience in clinical supervision and program management
  • Solid understanding of resourcing and performance evaluation procedures
  • Excellent knowledge of standards and regulations for the anxiety based therapeutic field
  • Proficient in MS Office and computer systems
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Exceptional organizational and leadership skills
  • Aptitude in resolving issues and conflicts

MSc/MA in clinical administration, medical science, psychology or relevant field; registered therapist within the Province of Alberta.
