Case Management Supervisor

The Children's Cottage Society of Calgary provides crisis nursery, respite, shelter and community support programs for vulnerable children and their families. To achieve our vision of “Safe Children in Healthy Families”, we are looking for a motivated self-starter to join our organization as a Case Management Supervisor in our Community Housing Programs. This exciting position will support the work of ending family homelessness in Calgary.

The successful candidate will work directly with case managers in supporting families, providing reflective supervision, advising on assessment and resources when needed to ensure families remain housed.

This positions schedule is a Monday to Friday 8:30 – 4:30, and may require working occasional evenings in order to meet the needs of our clients and community partners.


  • Coordinates and guides a diverse case management team in a client centered approach to support families exiting homelessness.
  • Endorses the principles of Harm Reduction and Housing First within client interactions
  • Attends Coordinated Access and Assessment meetings (CAA) on a weekly basis
  • Co-ordinate with the manager of Brenda’s house on clients in residence
  • Communicates and consults with service providers involved in client care
  • Conducts client intakes and oversees the intake process as required
  • Ensures prompt follow-up of any urgent situation that arises with timely communication to all parties involved
  • Attends community meetings, working and focus groups etc. in consultation with the Program Manager
  • Works diligently with the team to engage clients and support landlords, to prevent evictions and prevent unplanned discharges
  • Identifies and facilitates professional development opportunities for staff
  • Contributes to the leadership and positive culture of the work place
  • Ensure staff team follow all safety protocols
  • Available to be on call evenings and weekend for one week per cycle on a rotation basis
  • Maintain program standards


  • Bachelor Degree in Human Services, Social work or a related field is required
  • Demonstrated Leadership in the homeless serving sector
  • Previous case management experience
  • Three to five years’ experience working in a management role
  • Valid Alberta driver’s licence in good standing
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills in a team environment that includes staff, clients and external service providers
  • Respect and awareness to cultural differences and needs in individuals
  • High level of creativity, organization and anticipation of needs
  • Strong problem solving and decision making skills
  • An understanding and working knowledge of the principles of Housing First.
  • Works from a Trauma Informed lens
  • Current First Aid/CPR/assist is mandatory
  • Familiarity with Accreditation standards for case management practice 
  • Competence with technology including email, cell phones and navigating programs.
  • Pass a Police Security Clearance and Child Intervention Record Check within a designated time period upon hire.
