Campaign Manager - Full Time

United Way of Calgary and Area is the largest non-government source of funding for human care and community support programs in the Calgary region. United Way works with its community partners to build sustainable solutions for the future, while providing services today to improve lives of people when they need it most.

United Way of Calgary and Area is looking for a full-time Campaign Manager.  Reporting to the Director, Campaign and working closely with volunteers, workplaces and United Way employees, the Campaign Manager will plan, organize and implement workplace campaigns within assigned divisions or business segments.  The primary areas of focus for the Campaign Manager are to increase campaign revenues and increase visibility of the United Way of Calgary and Area. The Core Competency characteristics every member of United Way is expected to possess are Client/Customer Value Creation, Planning & Organizing, Change Management, Innovative Outlook, Communication & Influence and Leadership Capability. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Think creatively and strategically to maintain and develop campaigns in assigned accounts
  • Support, steward and create relationships with volunteers and workplaces
  • Track and respond to resolve issues from Team and workplace campaigns
  • Develop, in conjunction with other partners, financial and non-financial goals for assigned accounts in keeping with overall Campaign objectives
  • Identify and address prospecting for assigned divisions
  • Build donors’ understanding and their perceived value of United Way’s vision and mission to bringing about community change
  • Manage, coach and monitor progress and results for all assigned accounts
  • Manage assigned Campaign Associates by providing support, motivation, problem solving and assessment of performance

Experience and Skills

  • University Degree/College Diploma or equivalent experience
  • Two to five years fundraising experience
  • Relationship management and/or Sales experience
  • Experience working with volunteers in the public and/or private sector
  • Strong project management and time management skills
  • Solid planning, organizational and coordination skills
  • Highly developed communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated public speaking, leadership, training and facilitation skills
  • Conflict resolution, mediation and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated analytical capabilities
  • Computer literacy (database management, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple priorities
  • Initiative and flexibilty
