Accounting Analyst

Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Analyst is responsible for a variety of accounting duties including, but not limited to, accounts receivable, month end and year end, and maintenance of client database and files.


Accounts Receivable

  • Collect program Fee for Service information and prepare invoices 
  • Prepare invoices to customers for other goods and services provided, including suspense account
  • File accounts receivable invoices and take phone/email inquiries from customers
  • Reconcile accounts receivable on a monthly basis
  • Generate reports on outstanding invoices and make collection effort on overdue accounts

Month End and Year End Duties

  • Reconcile and enter prepaid expenses
  • Allocate inventory costs to related programs
  • Reconcile suspense GL accounts for month end and year end
  • Respond to Auditors’ requests related to accounts receivable

Other Duties

  • Maintain Access database of persons served according to information prepared by programs
  • Review and log Referral & Evaluation agreements prepared by Children Services
  • Issue POs as needed
  • Perform as backup support for other accounting and administrative tasks, including:
    • Issue POs
    • Petty cash disbursement, balancing and recording
    • Prepare deposits of cheques, cash, and credit cards
    • Code and enter accounts payable invoices
    • Order office supplies


  • Accounting Diploma
  • Minimum two years’ experience in an accounts receivable role
  • Computer literacy with emphasis on Excel, and knowledge on Great Plains Dynamics an asset
  • High ethical standards and professionalism
  • Good people skills and communication skills
  • Attention to details and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to maintain effective relations with staff members and external customers
  • Ability to work as part of a team, and willingness to perform a variety of support tasks
