Outcomes and Information Systems Manager at Hull Services

Hull Services is a large not-for-profit organization in Calgary that supports at-risk children, youth, adults, and families is currently seeking a full-time Outcomes and Information Systems Manager. This position will assist with a variety of data management and research initiatives including: person served and program outcomes monitoring and reporting, ongoing data gathering and analysis, internal data management system oversight, future research planning and implementation, coordination and collaboration with external organizations on shared outcome and research interests, and supporting continuous improvement objectives through providing historical and real-time data at both a program and Agency level.


  • Develop and maintain efficient and effective quantitative and qualitative data collection methods at a person served, program, and Agency level
  • Support the continued development of an existing in-house electronic data management system for information gathering, analysis and reporting purposes
  • Utilize statistical and spreadsheet software for further data management and analysis
  • Collaborate with individual programs and Executive Management to help identify and support specific information and research aims
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annualized data reporting and analysis for programs, Executive Management and funders
  • Coordinate and collaborate with external organizations on shared research interests
  • Support continuous improvement objectives through providing historical and real-time data at both a program and Agency level
  • Present outcomes and research findings to both internal personnel and external stakeholders


  • Masters’ degree with an area of interest or focus in children and families’ mental and behavioural health
  • Three to five years’ research experience in Psychology, Social Work, Social Sciences, or Population Health
  • Ability to understand, express and apply complex quantitative and/or qualitative analyses, concepts, methods and procedures
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to perform knowledge syntheses and critically appraise and evaluate research
  • Fully developed analytical and reasoning skills
  • Familiarity with standardized psychosocial assessment measures for children and families
  • Ability to work independently, and to facilitate team research at program and Agency levels
  • Familiarity with large data sets and a capacity to manage information through an in-house electronic data platform
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis and spreadsheet software (e.g., SPSS, EXCEL)
  • Comfortable collaborating and supporting a variety of data-gathering needs for program service delivery types from prevention and early intervention to intensive day and therapeutic campus-based care supports
  • Comfortable working with children, adolescents and families with a history of trauma
  • Willingness to help submit work to both refereed and non-refereed journals where applicable
