Accessible Housing opens doors to homes that are accessible and affordable for people with limited mobility. Through providing a continuum of housing and supports, we work to ensure that everyone has a home and belongs in community.

Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Development, the Summer Intern will be responsible for providing key support in a various areas within the organization. We are looking for a committed self-starter who is energetic, highly organized, a resourceful forward thinking person who is able to support the team in our daily activities while gaining exposure to the non-profit sector. 

This position is based out of Calgary at our main office location and is for a 2 month summer term starting in June 2018.

Duties and Responsibilities

Inclusio Support

  •  Assist in update of operational procedure manuals
  • Assist in development of outbreak protocols
  • Assist in development of QI program
  • Assist residents with move in process
  • Assist administration to coordinate all documentation for move in process
  • Assist as needed with documentation and data collection for operational outcomes for all programs to support the five strategic priorities of the organization

Event Support
Dinner for Doors 2018 Support

  • Assist with event planning and implementation
  • Assist with silent auction process
  •  Get quotes, place orders, make deliveries and pickups as required
  • Reviewing and editing writing
  • Event day setup and teardown
  • Other Event support as required (Inclusio tours) 
  • Other Communications and marketing support as required

Social Media Support

  • Compile social media content and align with organizational promotions, events and advocacy including text, photos and graphics and curated secondary content


  • Setting up organizational filing
  • Archiving and documenting old files
  • Providing vacation coverage for main office

Qualifications and Experience

  • MUST be currently enrolled in a related business, communications or certificate program at an accredited post-secondary institution
  • MUST  be between the ages of 18-30

 Skills and Abilities

  • Understanding of and commitment to confidentiality
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Ability to take initiative and meet deadlines
  • Excellent spoken and written English language skills
  • Proficient with word processing, spreadsheets, and other computer software including Microsoft Office
  • Highly proficient in research and presentation skills
  • Strong problem solving skills and high attention to details
  • Proven commitment to the values of community, leadership, empowerment and compassion

 Working Conditions

  •  This is primarily an office based job, with limited travel. A driver’s license is helpful but not required.
