Intake Associate

Key Role

This is a key position supporting the Intake and Counselling emphasis at CCC on a temporary contract from June to December 2018 working 22.5 hours per week.  Reporting to the Associate Director of Counselling Initiatives, this role ensures that clients receive timely and appropriate service. The successful candidate works cooperatively with all CCC staff/ stakeholders and demonstrates excellent customer service principles with a high level of professionalism at all times. This position practices sound business ethics, maintains confidentiality, responsible for both communicating and receiving information through our Intake Call Centre.  Provides support to vulnerable clients and to those in crisis ensuring the effective and efficient day-to-day operation while maintaining a professional, warm and service-orientated atmosphere.  

Skills & Knowledge Requirements:

  • Skill in managing voice and electronic messages in an effective and proactive manner
  • Organize the daily flow of intake forms (file set up) for potential new clients in accordance with agency policy
  • Exhibits well-developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and deal with ambiguity while maintaining a calm demeanor; proven time management and organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills – ability to embrace new IT systems, databases
  • Ability to analyze, develop, establish and maintain efficient administrative processes
  • Possesses excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of community resources and referral processes
  • Possesses exceptional multi-tasking and organizational skills to effectively manage high volume of tasks and be able to work within tight deadlines
  • Proven ability to create partnerships with employees, volunteers, the community, and those we serve that fosters an environment honoring individual preferences, choices and traditions
  • Flexibility, a positive personality and a willingness to help is critically important

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements:

  • BSW, Social Work Diploma or equivalency
  • Experience in working with service providers in a community-based setting
  • Experience and knowledge of social service principles and practices including intake and volunteer management
  • Strong command of English language, both verbally and written
  • Able to pass Police and Child Welfare checks
